‘custom terrain map: rainforest valley’ by inHaze

“This is another project made for my custom terrain series. This one features a large valley with lots of rainforest type trees spread all along the bottom, a large mangrove tree in the center, a huge waterfall in the corner and a massive cave system through all the surrounding mountains.
I created the whole base terrain in the worldpainter program spending most of the time trying to get the valley walls to look as realistic as I could. After the valley was all laid out I individually created around 20 different rainforest trees in another world save with the MCEdit forester script and saved each one into a schematic so I could hand place them into the valley.
I have added in most of the trees now and have also put an overlay of leaves on the ground in the forest area to make the terrain a little rougher and harder to traverse. Everything is still a wip and many things still need to be changed or added in.

The total size of the map is 768x768, while the size of the valley is around 450x550 and averages about 100m deep.”
